Militants Attack Corinthia Hotel In Tripoli & Take Hostages, IS Claims Responsibility




This morning at the Libya Corinthia Hotel in Tripoli a bomb exploded and gun men shot and killed guards as they stormed the hotel taking hostages. The Islamic State Branch in Libya has claimed responsibility for the attack.


So far security forces in the Libyan city of Tripoli are saying that 5 foreigners have been killed. Reports from local news sources also claim that 12 foreigners are being held hostage. Security camera footage has been released showing what appears to be the attackers wearing back packs as they walk through the hotel. This attack comes the day after the Libyan government announced the arrival of a US Delegation to the capitol.
