Top Al Qaeda Leaders Killed In Syrian Air Strike

Four top leaders of Jahbat Al Nusrah the Syrian Al Qaeda affiliate were killed in an air strike today in Syria. Al Nusra initially played blame on the U.S. for the strike that took the lives of their top commanders. It was later confirmed that the Syrian Air Force was responsible for the strike after they stated they acted on actionable intelligence regarding a top level meeting in the Syrian province of Idlib. The U.S. further confirmed that they had not launched any strikes within 200 miles of Idlib over the past 24 hours.

The strike killed Al Nusra General Military Commander Abu Humam Al Shami. Al Shami is the most senior Al Nusra commander to be killed since the terror groups inception in 2012.
