ISIS Claims American "Brother" Carried Out Suicide Attack In Tikrit

Terrorist movement says an American "brother" attacked Iraqi soldiers with a truck bomb - but there is no independent confirmation of the claim

An American citizen has carried out a suicide attack against Iraqi forces, Isil claimed on Tuesday.
There was no independent confirmation of the report. But, if true, this would be the first time that a US national has killed himself while fighting for Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil).
American officials believe that about 150 of their citizens have travelled to Iraq and Syriato join Isil. About 40 are believed to have returned to the United States.
One man, known by the pseudonym Abu Dawud Al-Amriki, drove a lorry packed with explosives into a gathering of Iraqi soldiers on Monday, according to Isil.
The incident was said to have taken place near the town of Samarra in central Iraq, which serves as the starting point for the counter-offensive against Isil.
"The brother Abu Dawud al-Amriki (may Allah accept him) launched himself with his explosives-laden truck”, said a bulletin on an Isil-controlled radio station, according to Agence France Presse news agency. “Dozens” of Iraqi soldiers were killed in the incident, added the report.
