Taliban Suicide Bomber Captured By Afghan Forces




KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — Officials have raised the death toll in an attack on an Afghan police station, saying the assault killed at least 20 officers.
The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.
The assault Tuesday happened in Pul-i-Alam, the capital of Logar province, some 80 kilometers (50 miles) east of Kabul. There, the first bomber detonated his explosives at the gate of the police headquarters, while a second blew himself up at a security checkpoint inside the compound.
Other bombers blew themselves up as police officers gathered for lunch in a dining hall.
Police officers and local government officials said at least 20 police officers were killed.
